Hampton Residential Remodel
The design is a combination of an interior and exterior renovation and an addition with development of construction work that can be taken in stages.
The living area on the first floor has a vaulted ceiling to connect both floors and dramatically opens up the living environment. Additionally, the first floor has been segmented into multiple public and private zones that can be adjusted in size through sliding partition doors with an open floor plan and clean lines that keep the spatial quality light and fresh. A private, first level guest bedroom with a full bath is provided. The location in the plan and amenities of the area will afford any guests maximized privacy and comfort. The first floor plate is enhanced visually through a sliding glass back wall of the home
The exterior visualization of the home uses a regional vernacular blended with an open and contemporary interior. The materiality for the exterior façades is based on natural materials and colors so as to integrate the home into the surrounding nature of the site.
Using LEED, Passive Haus and Building Science design strategies, the design is setup in a way that it has the potential to maximize the energy and water efficiency of the entire home. Along with this efficiency, a healthy interior environment is created through reduction and elimination of toxic building materials and a refined HVAC system that filters out air pollutants thereby increasing the comfort of the occupants.
