A unique facility with highly technical requirements, the design seeks to enhance the community and deliver an efficient, pharmaceutical grade environment through holistic sustainable design. This is achieved through responding to the urban fabric in both scale and function; emphasizing passive design and response to natural site conditions; integrating all systems to maximize efficiencies; designing to achieve LEED certification; creating a Renewable-Energy-Ready facility to incorporate a full-roof PV array and achieve net-zero energy; and creating human-scale interactions in materiality.
The design reflects functional needs in form with three distinct programmed areas: administrative, cultivation, and operations space, with the prefabricated construction methodology and segmentation of the programmed spaces helping achieve unmatched operational efficiencies and performance. Ultimately, the $3M, 10,000sf facility provides a better quality product with greater yields, and operates at 90% less water and 35% less energy than other cannabis facilities, while the aesthetics provide branding as a flagship facility.
